I dont think the VPN secret will change this situation, however using a vpn secret is a good idea for security in general! There are a couple things we can try to solve this. What version of Tunnelblick are you using? If it is a version earlier than 3.1beta04 there was a bug. Make sure that you have the latest version of Tunnelblick installed!
